ACH is the acronym for Automated Clearing House.The Automatic Clearing House system is a US national electronic system that is used for electronic transfer of funds between individual and corporate account placed with financial institutions that participate in this system. Transfer within the ACH system are usually done in batches. Foe example, in 2002 this system processed transactions in excess of 8 billion dollars. A similar system is being set up by the European Payment Council under the name Pan-European ACH.
