Automated Clearing House

The Automated Clearing House system is a US national electronic system that is used for electronic transfer of funds between individual and corporate account placed with financial institutions that participate in this system. Transfer within the ACH system are usually done in batches. Foe example, in 2002 this system processed transactions in excess of 8 billion dollars.
