Fee For Service
The fee for service health plan is a type of health plan that allows the insured a higher degree of flexibility. What it does, practically, is allow the insured person to make medical decision without having to confer with the insurer. The insured pays for medical services as they are rendered and receives reimbursement after a claim is filed and if the services in question are covered by the policy. This type of policy often has an overall higher cost for the insured because it has higher deductibles and copay ratios.
