The Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 Index, commonly referred to as FTSE 100 or 'footsie' is a share index of the top 100 most highly capitalized companies listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). It is the dominant index of the LSE, amouting to about 80% of the U.K. share market. The FTSE 100 is independently maintained by the FTSE Group.
